Cheney still needs Torture

Why can't we, as Americans, just reject torture and inhumane treatment in all scenarios. We must hold ourselves to a standard higher than those of our "enemies."

Check this link out. Dick Cheney has asked John McCain to exempt the CIA from anti-torture legislation. McCain rejected it.

No one has given me a compelling argument in support of torture or inhumane treatment. I don't think anyone can. Feel free to try though.

Just a note: I would be just as outraged by this if this were Al Gore or Franklin Roosevelt himself. Torture and a lack of humanity is a NON-PARTISAN issue.

Am I the only one that thinks it's goofy to ask a guy that was held as a POW (McCain) for the right to torture?

I dunno, call it etiquette or something, maybe. *mindboggling*

If the CIA exemption goes through, will it still be possible for the American people to plead innocence and avoid culpability by claiming ignorance?
