UVSC SUBMITS LIKE A SLAVE

Last year, plans to build a $30 million digital learning at Utah Valley State College was suddenly cancelled by the Republican Utah Legislature because of the college's decision to invite liberal filmmaker Michael Moore and, later, its production of "The Vagina Monologues". The learning center was, obviously, meant to help students learn. But, the legislature decided that UVSC was becoming "too liberal" and so they punished the students by taking away something that would help and strengthen them. SEE: THIS DIVIDED STATE OFFICIAL SITE

So, this year, UVSC has behaved like a good little boy and it seems like they'll be rewarded, finally, with the digital learning center. True, "The Vagina Monologues" were still performed, but it had to be censored. UVSC did not allow the use of the word "vagina". The event is now referred to as "The Monologues" or "The V-Day Monologues".

So, the message is this: If you want something in life, sell out to whomever has money and power. Even if that means sacrificing free speech and academic freedom. Keep it up, UVSC! You are owned!

REally, the vagina is the only the tube that the penis or other object is inserted into, your that the baby comes out through. The visible portion is the vulva. But I suspect that they couldn't have said vulva either.

I think it would have been better to acually SPELL OUT the word "VAGINA"... or let's be more specific, "the birth canal monologues....." Ha.Ha.Ha.
Excuse me, are we still in kindergarden?

won't you Utah kinds learn, the only opinion worthwhile is that of an old white guy from Alipne name Harlan. Damn it, don't say vagina!!!

Breaker 1 -9 Breaker 1 -9 Steven,

This here's the Rubber Duckie. ( I used to do that all the time in my grandpa's RV, sorry, I just couldn't resist)

Interesting article about that V deal. Did someone say censorship? Yes...... I did! And speaking of it, what's the deal with all of the censorship going on around here? It's like everytime I check to see if Bryan has responded to my Larry H. Miller comment, more and more comments and complete posts have disappeared.

Why did the photos of the two Mormon missionaries go away?

Why did that whole goat thing go away?

You're not closing shop are you?

Anyway, I'm sure you had your reasons.

On a totally different note, I am thinking about joining NETFLIX. It's just too darned tempting. I want to checkout "The Devil and Daniel Johnston". It looks real good. When I join NETFLIX, I promise to check out "This Divided State" too. I just can't justify the purchase right now. I spend WAY TOO MUCH dinero on entertainment. I'm hoping that NETFLIX will be a way to save a little lettuce and watch more flix in the process.

What are your thoughts on NETFLIX? The word seems to be that it's da bomb! Also, is "The Devil and Daniel Johnston" in your collection of docs?

Hey Bryan, I am totally against censorship of the arts and all that jazz, but I salute Mr. Miller for what he did on account of the way most theater owners are owned and just bow down to whatever the 800 pound gorilla says. And no I'm not contradicting myself because Mr. Miller didn't censor Brokeback Mountain, people could catch at several theater nearby I'm sure. Where's the censorship?

I think I've becoming addicted to this whole blogging deal. I'll let you know when I start up my own blog. Right now I'm really low energy though because of some new meds. They're making me a little loopy and when I get loopy I like to razz people so just consider your warned. So if Duckie starts his razzle dazzle, don't start cussing or censoring me cause it's all in good fun.

Duckie, Duckie, Duckie, welcome to the blog! You're official now. Sorry about all that crap earlier this week. It seems I went a little nuts.

Yeah, I know, it's ironic that I'm now censoring (or at least moderating) this blog. Good call.

What picture of Mormon missionaries?

I deny any existence of goat conversations.

No, were are not closing shop.

Yes! Rent THIS DIVIDED STATE from NEtfliX! Hooray! Make sure you tell us what you think once you see it! I used Netflix for a few months a while ago and it was great! Now, I just shop at the Movie Trading Company cuz they have real cheap and hard-to-find films.

No, "The Devil and Daniel Johnson" is not in my collection. I guess it should be, though.

Anyways, there are some answers...

Look forward to blogging with you!

Duckie,

As far as the Larry H. Miller thing, I'd agree that what he did was beyond my care if he'd have done it before he sold tickets to it.

Next, as far as Netflix, I tried it once right at the beginning of it's life (years and years ago) and it seemed cool, but I avoid as much internet commerce as I can. Brick and mortar, mom and pops as often as I can for anything.

Hey wait a minute! What's going on here? Steven says "Yes! Rent THIS DIVIDED STATE from NEtfliX! Hooray!" while Bryan says " I avoid as much internet commerce as I can. Brick and mortar, mom and pops as often as I can for anything."

Are you guys ganging up on me or trying to trick me or something? I can't win around here! The brick and mortars don't carry your blasted video in these parts! What am I supposed to do, sit on my hands all day? I've got TV to watch and you're getting all self righteous about where you shop.

Blogging's for the birds!

Listen up Bryan! I am walking out my door, hoping on the bus and going to the Wal-mart. I am going to eat two Big 'N' Tastey from McDonald's (which is located within the brick and mortar of the Wal-Mart) Then I am shopping for a new pair of shoes in the men's footwear section and there's nothing that you can do to stop me! I am a free man! Nobody ownes me! I can shop where I please without feeling an ounce of guilt!

Try and top that Bryan! You can't touch me!

I was saying that back in the day when I tried it Netflix was awesome.

I don't do much on the internet anymore, so I don't know how it is now. I know it doesn't always work out to shop at mom and pops, I've been known to hit target and eat and wendy's myself from time to time. I'm not unrealistic about it.

Bryan,

I knew there was something I liked about you! What it is I'm not quite sure. Maybe it's because you're a man who sticks to his guns... or perhaps it's simply the cut of your jib.

Bryan, ... You're alright... a real man's man.

Duckie

PS

I read your story about the late term abortion and thought it was fantastic!

Do you think that that Molly broad will ever dare show her head around here? Boy did she get things cooking! I think I like the nicer gentler version of Steven. Cussing's for the birds!

Steven,

You're alright too. Keep up the good work on your blog.
