Phil!

It's been a busy weekend. I was busy reminding my kids they still have a father.

Anyhow, I got an email from Phil Gordon, one of the Producers of This Divided State and he's published a couple of essays lately and I wanted to link to them so everyone could check them out.

This first one was an essay about the Vagina Monologues published in the Daily Herald.

This next one is an essay about Dr. Steven Jones' visit to UVSC. I was working otherwise I would have been there. I have been told by a number of people that it was the speaking engagement of the year at UVSC. It's an amazing scientific look at how the two planes could not have possibly taken the Twin Towers down. If anyone is paying attention, this is probably going to be the next big credible theory that people are looking at and giving attention to in the near future.

So. That's it for this update.

Steven, Steven, Steven...

What on earth is going on with the collar of that blasted blazer? You're not trying to make some kind of bold fashion statement are you? Good grief! Real filmmakers just aren't all that concerned with the way they look. Who are you trying to impress? Do us all a favor and put the damned collar down!

The other day I saw this dude with a yellow sweater tied over his shoulders at the Wal-Mart. It was sad. Mark my words, a day will come in the not so distant future where you will be ashamed of how hard you are trying to be mr. cool. If you really were cool, you wouldn't have to try so hard.

Keep up the good work on the blog. Spare us all the vainity photos.

Duckie

Duckie,

Thanks for your advice. Please be assured that I am very comfortable with my baffling fashion statements. You have inspired me to now wear a permanent flipped collar. Collars up. All the time.

By the way, Bryan put up that picture. Maybe he did it because he's wild about flipped collars too.

Anyways, Kojo, have any comments on the actual post? You know, the social impact of suppression of free speech and freedom of expression? Have an opinion on any of that gay stuff?

Word up. Happy blogging.

Steven,

What is your stance on the treatment of the mentally ill in this country? For the record I think that there could be a lot of improvements and by the looks of your flipped up collar you aren't doing a blasted thing about it!

In protest of your flipped up collar, I am wearing my pants inside out for a week. When people ask me whats up with the inside out slacks, I'm going to pull out a picture of you with that ridiculous blazer and tell them. Go ask this guy!

Duckie

Duckie,

LMAO. Dude, you totally have to post some pictures of your pants inside out. People will pass you in the street and say, "Wow, that guy looks so Greenstreet." And then they'll say, "I'll bet he doesn't care about the mentally ill. What a prick." I swear, man, it'll happen.

Flipped collars drive people to extreme measures.

Steven,

SGSYASGAYTKI. Dude,

Do you realize how delusional you sound?

"Wow, that guy looks so Greenstreet."

What on earth are you talking about? Nobody would ever say that! That is completely absurd!

Let's get back on track here! The mentally ill. If you are such an advocate for the mentally ill, then what are you doing about it besides driving everyone crazy with these ridiculous photos you post of yourself trying to be all Zoolander? You need to seriously make up your mind about what it is you are trying to accomplish here. Just go and make another film and quit worrying about whether you look like your famous or not.

Impress us with your films not your fashion!

Your pal,

Duckie

PS

This should be the week that I see "This Divided State". I will post a review here on your blog after I take a look at it. I also will be checking out "The Devil and Daniel Johnston" as well. Daniel Johnston suffers from mental illness. interesting side note - Daniel Johnston used to work at McDonalds.

I'm baffled by the absurdity of this line of comments. I posted the picture because it was the only one I could find of Phil.

And Duckie, you just kind of get used to Steve's bizarre fashion sense. Although he's probably had to get used to mine. Mine is a bit more innocuous though (khakis and star wars t-shirts...)

Bryan,

Thanks for your comments. It's good to know that I am not alone on this one. You are absolutely right, Steven DOES have "bizarre fashion sense". I'm glad that you are finally seeing things my way.

Do you want to know something completely freaky? Guess what I am wearing right this very instant.... you guessed it! a pair of khakis (inside out) and my Darth Vader t-shirt. Isn't that bizarre?

I just knew there something I liked about you! So after hanging around Steven for a while do you ever get the urge to wear women's sunglasses or perhaps a fur coat?

Just wondering,

Your pal,

Duckie
