Bush 'Worst in History'

Sorry I've been lax in the posting lately. My Internet connection has been dodgy for the last few days and got back up to full strength today.

I just wanted to drop in a link and a note about Jimmy Carter stating the obvious:
Former president Jimmy Carter called President Bush's international relations "the worst in history" and also took aim at Bush's environmental policies and the administration's "quite disturbing" faith-based initiative program.
Strong words from a former President of the United States.

I just wish more people like him would come out this strong. And I wish they'd take things one step further and actually encourage talk of impeachment. If the Bush administration hasn't committed high crimes or misdemeanors, who has?

What would be helpful would be if someone did an actual study that defined a scale upon which "good" and "bad" presidential foreign policy could be judged, a set of objective criteria that could be used in order to make determinations to fit presidents onto this scale, then painstaking research to determine where all the presidents in US history fit on that scale. Calling Bush "the worst in history" without citing facts and comparing to other candidates is merely juvenileirresponsibleunfortunate.

It could well be that a thoughtful analysis might determine Bush as the worst ever (although there'd be some significant arguments about the criteria, weighting, all that). Still, I can't see how pot-shot-taking is ever going to help anyone.
