Here's a look at some international DVD covers to "This Divided State."
It looks like Alex Caldiero and Jason Nichols made the cut on this DVD cover design of the film from Sweden. It's funny, this is basically the postcard we were handing out at festivals.
And here's one from Australia that's a little bit more recognizable. I think it's funny, it seems they actually paid to have it rated and we got an M for moderate coarse language.
Just thought everybody might be interested in seeing these. Supposedly, the Swedish distributor is actually going to send us some copies, but... who knows... I mean, they are Swedes.

What're you saying about Swedes!??
The most odd thing about that Swedish cover is the Swedish text at the top says: "Michael Moore's long awated followup to Fahrenheit 9/11" as if he made the film.
Thanks for a great docu! Just got it from my video rental here in Stockholm, Sweden.
However you must get back to the local distributor describing the film as Moores follow up to Fahrenheit. You don't need Moore looking like the producer when you've got such rock solid material on your own...
Keep it up!
/pelle
Pelle,
How did you rent it? It doesn't come out until next month in Sweden.
STEVEN
Aw, man!
Information for people outside Sweden:
Here you can rent a movie before it's available to buy, it's called sucking more money out of those really interested (like myself). :)
Take care,
Maria
P.s. Don't ask me how it's done, ask the swedish Minister for Justice, Beatrice Ask.
Maria,
Thanks for the info! I didn't know that. That's kinda weird.
I learn something new everyday.
STEVEN
What was the reason for such misleading cover art?
The cover art and text screams "Michael Moore made this film!"
Your name isn't even credited. Why is this so?
Maria
Look up SMILE Entertainment in Denmark and ask them.
It's their marketing. I had nothing to do with it.
It's YOUR movie Steven!
If you don't have an answer for Maria, then it's because YOU haven't asked Smile Entertainment the appropriate question which is:
"What the crap are thinking with your bull crap, lying marketing of MY film?"
If I were you I would be getting real pissed about now and put those Swedes in their place!
If you dont put them in their place it's because:
You either 1. Are a pussy and aren't willing to stand up to Swedes.
or 2. Are laying low in hopes that people are fooled into renting "This Divided State".
Quit being such a spineless turd and do the right thing!
Duckie
Duckie,
Thanks for your really passionate activism on my part.
But, if I did anything, that would calm you down.
I like you just the way you are.
STEVEN
Steven,
I'm not sure that this has anything to do with "putting someone in thier place". But it does seem odd that you don't have a reasonable answer as to why Smile came up with that DVD cover.
Maybe if you contact them soon, they could add a little sticker that says "A film by Steven Greenstreet".
It just seems wrong to let it stand as it is.
How would feel if you thought you were buying a DVD of a certain director because the cover art was misleading and it turned out that you got taken advantage of?
Maria,
I personally feel it strange that they chose to market the film this way.
However, I'm way to busy to care about it right now.
I might send an email, though.
Thanks for your concern and for bringing this to my attention.
STEVEN
Stenar, you of all people know how to "stick it to the man".
Never.
Yeah, OK.
Hmmm... It appears as though Duckie or someone figured out some way to post fake responses from me. The previous four comments weren't from me. :(
I wish assholes like that would just have the balls to stand behind their own comments and not try and make it look someone else is making them.
By the way, we have the same system in America. You can usually rent films at Blockbuster (et. al.) for several weeks before you are able to buy it in stores.
The Real Non-Pussy Stenar,
I think there's a good reason why they've chosen to hide their real name.
And I think there's an even bigger reason why they've chosen YOU as their closeted identity.
An even bigger reason.
STEVEN
Hey wait a minute! Don't drag me into this. I had nothing to do with this prank.
But let me get this straight Steven, What you are saying is that people who post with fake names are "pussies" and therefrore are fighting for the pink team?
You might have a point there, your real name is Steve Greenstreet, my real name is Duckie Butters, but Stenar obviously chooses to go by a fake name.
Oh but wait, how does that account for your sunglasses?
Your pal,
Duckie Butters
Duckie,
Get your mind off sunglasses.
There are more important matters at hand here.
Such as your real name ACTUALLY being Duckie Butters!
For God's sake, man, use a fake name!
STEVEN
Duckie,
If that's your real name, then your parents must have been on crack. Oh, that's right. They couldn't afford crack.
You two really sound juvenille picking on me for my unique name and suggesting that I come from low socio-economic background.
Like I said, I had nothing to do with this prank, but whoever is behind it got your goats to the point that you are both lashing out in anger towards ME. If you need a scape-goat, I guess I'm as good as any, 'cause I do like to razz poeple. So maybe I had all of this coming.
If you ever get tired of your lame "you have a funny name" and "your parents couldn't afford crack" bits, here's some better amo for you two.
1. I weigh in at 320 pounds and am only 5'10''.
2. This weight gain is due to anti-depressants and ant-psychotics.
3. My left leg is shorter, by two inches than my right leg.
4. I have been unable to work steadily for the past 7 or 8 years.
So why don't you just laugh it up real hard at the fat, unemployed, poor kid on meds
Duckie Butters
How do you afford meds?
