Al-Zarqawi

The headlines of all the papers today read "Al-Zarqawi killed" or something similar. Sadly, this is a hollow victory in Iraq and to be honest, I have my doubts that Zarqawi was responsible for a tenth of what was attributed to him. And the timing is also questionable. I mean, think about it, how can they confirm that he was killed by a bomb?

Wouldn't sense dictate trying to aprehend him? If they knew the building he was in, why didn't they send in a Seal Team or something? Wouldn't the intelligence that could be provided by Zarqawi, if he were as important as we are led to believe, be more valuable than his body incinerated in an explosion?

In Bush's speech today, even he admitted that this would do little or nothing to stop the overwhelming violence that has torn the country apart. In fact, it could make things worse. Terrorists are like the Hydra. Cut off one head, three grow in its place.

An interesting point that Donald Rumsfeld made (according to the above-linked Post article) was this:
"I think arguably over the last several years no single person on this planet has had the blood of more innocent men, women and children on his hands than Zarqawi."
I think this claim is silly. It's easy to prove that he himself, along with Bush and co., have more innocent blood on their hands than Zarqawi in recent years. Here's an October 2004 article attributing at least 100,000 civilian deaths in Iraq to the US-led invasion. You can read more about that here and here and here. (the last one is a segment from NPRs "This American Life" that is truly amazing to listen to.)

The propaganda ministers in the administration will try getting you to believe that this is the first step to ending bloodshed and civil war in Iraq. That might be true. What they won't tell you is that a better first step would be removing the entire Bush Administration from a position of power in our government.

Here is an excerpt of the link YOU linked to:

Zarqawi's lifeless body was immediately recognizable to those at the house, Caldwell said, and the discovery of tattoos and scars that he was known to have confirmed the identification. Fingerprint tests returned a 100 percent match, and results from DNA testing are expected within the next day or two, Caldwell said.

Okay. you got me there. My verbage was bad.

My point was this: there was a good chance that if we blew up the building with bombs, what if we couldn't identify him? It just seems too convenient.

God I feel stupid....

At least you admit when you made a mistake. I'm impressed.

Any plans to shoot a short of "Short Term Abortion"?

It reminds me of some sort of long lost Twilight Zone episode. Sterling was able to pull off some pretty political stuff that would actually fly on network tv only because he did it with a Sci-fi twist. You too have accomplished that very same thing with "Short Term Abortion".

Some people think they need to be all loud and obnoxious to get heard. What those loud and obnoxious people don't realize is that they just wind up sounding like fools that are a little wacked in the cabeza.

I found a book on how to house train dogs which led me to ask the neighbors for Satan back. They gave Satan back but told me that they had named renamed him Buddy.

I guess I will have to call him Buddy whenever they are around. But between you and me I allready wrote Satan on his doggy dish.

Your pal,

PS

I guess Steven is all pissed at me still 'cause I was partying online with some folks on another blog. Let Steven know that the other blog seems to be done in good taste. No cussing, no nudity etc. So what's the big deal? Steven needs to learn how to dish it out and how to take it. Plus it would be nice if he could learn how to dish it out with resorting to cussing and crued junk. He knows that sort of stuff isn't good for my psychology.

Zarqawi was a myth created by psy-ops of the US military. Now the legend has outlived its usefulness so they kill him off.

I want to shoot "Late Term Abortion" but it's something that would take a bit of money to pay some actors that were good.

Non-actors are fine for balls-out no-budget comedy like the theatre robbery picture, but for something with some meat to it, I wouldn't want to rush it.

But, it actually started as an idea for a short film, so eventually, I'm sure, I'll shoot it.

I liked "Late Term Abortion" too. Although I think it's kind of ironic how it's usually progressives who are in favor late term abortion, and not the other way around like it is in your story.

We've had enough of your fishing in these waters. Go fish elsewhere!

Brian, Who is this Stenar dude? And why in the crud does he think that I am Anonymous?

Someone ought to tell him he's coming off like a real bozo.

PS

What was the deal with that other post? I think John was saying something about it being OK to call someone Gay or a Fag if it was true. Am I remembering that correctly?
